Inflation in the Netherlands reaches almost 12 percent | economy
Prices in the Netherlands have grown extremely fast since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), the previous month increased to almost 12.
In February it was 7.3 percent. From a first composite release in March, 11.9 percent.
Raw materials scarce
The historical in the Netherlands has been around the highest level in decades for some time now. That’s because energy prices and fuel tariffs at the pump were already significant costs before the conflict in Ukraine. This can be spent, among other things, on the rapid recovery from the corona crisis, including for the use of raw materials in leisure time.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine subsequently boosted prices even more. There are serious concerns in the oil and gas markets that the fuel supply could dry up.
