Almost all of the 100 or so Chinese passengers who were stranded at Zurich Airport on Sunday were able to fly home on Thursday. The Swiss flight LX188 took off at 11.01 a.m. towards Shanghai. At the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency, the airline confirmed a corresponding message from “24 hours”.
However, two people could not take the onward flight, as the airline further shared. These tested positive for the corona virus before departure and could therefore not be transported on Thursday.
The group came to Zurich from São Paulo on Sunday morning and wanted to fly on in the evening. In the meantime, however, the authorities in Shanghai had ordered a short-term general corona lockdown. Swiss then canceled the flight.
