Schibsted buys Denmark’s largest provider of craft services
ACQUISITION
Schibsted currently owns the mediation service Mittanbud in Norway and Servicefinder in Sweden. Well, the group expands to Denmark with the acquisition of 3byggetilbud.dk.
3byggetilbud.dk is Denmark’s largest service platform and has since its establishment in 2000 mediated several hundred thousand construction projects to a nationwide network of craftsmen.
Well, Schibsted buys the service, the group writes in a press release. The details of the transaction are not yet known.
– They have extensive experience in communicating renovation projects from consumers to craftsmen, and have a solid position in Denmark. I experience this as a perfect match for Schibsted, says Håvard Bungum, CEO of Schibsted Norway SMB, which also owns Mittanbud.
Last year, 3byggetilbud.dk provided more than 70,000 projects to Danish craftsmen. Bungum believes this number will increase in the years to come.
He also has ambitions that the acquisition will have a positive effect on Mittanbud.
– Especially on the technical and use of data, we have a lot to contribute. But I also have high expectations that we can learn a lot from how 3byggetilbud works, and that it will contribute to Mittanbud becoming an even better service for Norwegian craftsmen and consumers who need to refurbish, says Bungum.
The founder of 3byggetilbud.dk, Martin Borgstrøm, is satisfied with having sold the service he started in 2000, it is written in the press release. Borgstrøm will continue in the company after the acquisition.
– At 3byggetilbud.dk we have always done things in our own way. We were one of the first services of its kind in Europe and I am proud that we have got where we are today, he says.
The competition is intensifying
The acquisition is known shortly after the Norwegian small job service Print ads to expand to Sweden.
This unknown Luado also launched a new service called Project, which will be a direct competitor to Mittanbud. Among partners who support the service are Maxbo, Ikea, Boligmappa and Storebrand. The project has also received financial support from Innovation Norway.
– Our customers demand help for more complicated solutions and larger projects than before. Luado Prosjekt is a service that ensures customers our approach to serious and skilled craft companies and help for a better implementation of the project, says Teodor BäckströmService Fulfillment Operations Manager at IKEA Norway, in a press release.
– There is a lot to think about when you start renovating. We simply want to remove worries and make it easier to succeed, says Jarle Naustvik, general manager and founder of Luado.
