Portugal all dark red but number of covid-19 cases indicated for stability | Covid-19
The most recent map from the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), on the evolution of the insufficiency of covid-19, does not bring positive news for Portugal. If a week ago the country still had an area outside the most critical level, the North, this Thursday, with the most recent data on notifications of the disease for 14 days, the territory is completely painted in dark red, which means that in that time period there were more than 300 cases of covid-19 per 100 thousand inhabitants. But the daily data that the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) published again point to a stabilization.
Unlike Spain, it appears on the ECDC map with a vast area painted in lighter red, corresponding to an incidence between 14 days of 100 to 300 cases, Portugal is fully painted in the color that points to the worst infection value, a situation shared by several European countries such as France, Germany or Italy.
The must, still, worrying and can only be seen as risk of death, even if it is not significantly significant, but also not seen as the increase of death, if the improvement data are not significant, but since also the risks, the data on the increase in severity are not significant if desired, nor is the situation worsening.
According to the DGS, on March 30 (most recent data with available data), Portugal had registered 10,754 new cases and 20 deaths from covid-19. If we exclude the highlights of the week, particularly on Sundays, when the number of reported cases is always much lower — on the 27th, for example, there were only 3860 cases — it is clear that stability has been the month constant of this.
Between the 8th and the 30th, the one in which there was a greater interval of registered cases was even the first of the first (8), with 14,600 cases. The value of 14,000 daily serial cases was exceeded again only on the 15th, with the remaining days always below this value. 10,387 cases. Weekends are confirmed on the 12th, a Saturday, and the last Sunday, with 3860 cases.
When you look at deaths associated with covid-19, the trend is the same. The DGS diaries, between March 30th, March 20th, 8th and March 30th, differ between data such as March 11th, March 15th, and the 30th on the 2nd day when this value was lower.
Also the latest report by the National Institute of Public Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge (Insa), released this Wednesday, but with the most recent data referring to the 25th of March, points to an improvement in the situation in terms of the transmissibility index. (R
