Expo 2020 Dubai comes to an end. Portugal Pavilion had 800 thousand visitors
Expo 2020 Dubai closes this Thursday after six months, 182 days. The Portugal pavilion says goodbye having had more than 800 thousand visitors. According to the Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal (AICEP), the event was the largest global meeting since the beginning of the pandemic.

The pavilion, in which the present vision, various regions and municipalities of the country through the motto Port, a visiting world in a Portuguese territory, showed its diverse territories and the vision of a Portuguese territory, which combines secular history with one of the future, standing out for the offer of tourist destinations, culture, science, entrepreneurship, among others.
In consecutive months, the traditional Portugal pavilion, fado and guitar, performances by groups such as Paulo de Miranda, Caretos de Podence and works by Joana Vasconcelos.
In addition to culture, the Pavilion has promoted several economic initiatives, which show the country’s potential investment in terms of companies and in the quality of products and services. Strategic sectors for the Middle East region were highlighted, such as Information Technologies, Construction, Home and Design, Fashion and Jewellery, Agrifood and Tourism, explain AICEP in a statement.

The commissioner-general of Portugal for Expo 2020 Dubai and president of AICEP, Luís Castro Henriques, says that “the overall balance of Portuguese participation is very positive. Portugal has reinforced its presence in this exhibition with a Pavilion that has aroused much interest and demand. The region also specifies the many institutional and economic contacts established over these six months, the interest in Portuguese companies in Portugal and the desire to do business in this region of the globe with potential.
