From 1 April, the registration center for refugees operating in Kutná Hora, Mladá Boleslav and Příbram will limit the opening hours from Friday. They will be open seven weeks a week – but they are still valid; for 24 hours a day. They will be open from 7 am to 9 pm.
Technicians are now helping police officers retrieve data from refugee documents
However, the newcomers will not come across the completely locked door even outside this time, according to Wednesday’s information of the region’s spokesman David Šíma. Outside office hours, incoming refugees will be accommodated in an emergency shelter so that they can be checked in when it opens. Governor Petra Pecková (STAN) reminded that the main task now is to manage the administration around the accommodation of refugees. “Since Monday, there have been two teams at the regional office that contact commercial accommodation providers and prepare documents so that contracts can be concluded with them,” she said.
Moving in Příbram and in Prague
Another novelty is the change of the KACPU office in Příbram. This will be moved from the House of Culture to the former ore mine building to TG Masaryk Square during Thursday evening and Friday night. There will be a meeting room for city councilors to register refugees; smaller spaces are now enough. The council can temporarily sit in a cultural center, but above all, the planned events will be able to return.
The mayor of Příbram, Jan Konvalinka (YES), reminded that moving is necessary: long-term planned cultural events will not wait. “After a two-year break in the field of culture, it is not possible to cancel other contracted and sometimes re-translated events. The House of Culture will once again be full of culture and from April all planned events will take place in the variety hall, “said the mayor. At the same time, it offers a tasting: Horkýže Slíže will perform on April 2, and Easter in the Theater is planned for April 9: an event to replace the unrealized Christmas in the Theater.
President Zeman pardoned the convicted head of the Forest Administration, Lány Balák
KACPU is also waiting to move in the metropolis, which the region operates in the Prague Congress Center together with the capital. Until April 14, he will move to the former headquarters of Komerční banka in Vysočany, which was borrowed free of charge by the development company Central Group. Even in Prague, smaller premises are enough – and also here the operating hours will be shortened (also between 7.00 and 21.00; then it is expected that the handling of already present refugees will continue until midnight). And also here, when it is closed, it may be possible to spend the night in the emergency shelter.
36,000 people came to the region
“Currently, over 245,000 special visas have been issued in the Czech Republic for refugees from Ukraine; a total of 35,837 of them have a residence address in the Central Bohemian Region, “spokesman Šíma reminded of the current information from the meeting of the regional crisis staff.
