Trains will leave part of the line from Tábor to Prague for three months
Passengers between Tábor and Prague will thus have to change to a bus on part of the route during this time.
“The interruption of operations is necessary mainly in order to be able to remove the original and new lines. The trains will use upright tracks for the first time at the turn of June and July, “confirmed the spokesperson of the Railway Administration Nela Friebová.
For example, the interstate trains EC Prague – České Budějovice – Linz and all domestic long-distance trains (IC and R) Prague – Veselí nad Lužnicí – České Budějovice / České Velenice will replace buses in the section Olbramovice – Chotoviny and back (from 23 to 29 May in the section Olbramovice – Tábor a
Details are in the exclusive long-distance timetable.
Freight trains will start using the new building on the evening of June 30, the first passenger trains will pass the section the next day. Between Votice and Červený Újezd, then only the second track will be temporarily in operation, further to Sudoměřice. Full double-track operation in the entire section will start in September.
“The speed of the trains will gradually increase to 160 kilometers per hour. After the introduction of the exclusive ETCS operation, trains with a tilting box will run here at speeds of up to 200 kilometers per hour, “added Friebová.
Currently, the laying of cables and the installation of dividing and securing equipment or traction lines continue in the entire section. After the interruption of railway operation, earthworks will begin at the point of intersection or contact of both lines. The original completion date was supposed to be in August last year.
The length is 19.9 kilometers and includes, for example, two larger tunnels Mezno 840 meters and Deboreč 660 meters. The number of railway bridges, culverts and underpasses is 48 and, for example, the length of noise barriers is 2,205 meters.
Upon completion, the trains will largely stop running on the current track, the new tracks will shorten the Sudoměřice – Votice route by two kilometers, which will mean further acceleration on the Budějovice – Prague corridor.
This year, the 8.4 km long part of Soběslav – Doubí in the Tábor region is to be completed on this route.
