Secondary school is to be built in the Grünau district
The current grass playing field of the Grünau school complex is to be turned into a neighborhood park. Two BZO partial revisions were developed for this.
In the Letzi school district, a significant increase in the number of pupils in primary and secondary school can be expected in the coming years. A secondary school is to be built in the Grünau district in order to ensure that the school district will continue to have enough classrooms in the future.
The partial revisions of the building and zoning regulations (BZO) that have now been published form the planning basis for a sustainable, balanced development of schools and open spaces in the district. The plot between Bändlistrasse and Bernerstrasse Nord, on which the school building is to be built, is now in the E1 recreation zone.
In order to enable a school facility there, the lot is zoned into the Oe4F zone for public buildings and facilities. In return, the area of today’s meadow near the Grünau school complex WILL be zoned out of the zone for public buildings and facilities Oe4F in a free zone FP. In this way, it can be permanently secured as a neighborhood park.
There is a public edition
The BZO partial revisions “Quartierpark Grünau” and “Schoolhouse Tüffenwies” will be publicly displayed from April 1 to May 31, 2022 in Amtshaus IV and can also be accessed on the website. During this time, the population can comment on the templates.
Based on the objections received, the planning instruments will be revised if necessary and then presented to the city and finally to the municipal council.
School location brings synergies
With the planned Tüffenwies school complex in the east and the district park in the west, the Grünau will be fully respected in terms of public use. Good public transport connections and the proximity to the Hardhof sports complex, where synergies can be used with the existing facilities, speak in favor of the new location of the school complex. Furthermore, the new open spaces on the school grounds complement the open space offer for the entire population.
The spacious open space in the middle of the residential quarter will remain permanently as a central meeting point for the residents. The probable use of the new district park is being worked out in a public participation process as part of the “Big Picture Grünau”.
