National team management response to the statement of SK Slavia Prague Representation
The management of the association, the coaching staff and the entire implementation team want to express their support to Lukáš Masopust and wish them a speedy recovery. We sincerely regret any injury, especially from a player who represents such passion and pride.
Before the preparatory match in Wales, which was part of the mandatory international term, the management of the national team communicated with all Czech clubs. not only with Slavia, but also with Sparta, Pilsen, Slovácko and Jablonec, which were therefore naturally interested in the busyness of their players.
Confirmation of helpfulness towards Slavia was not thought of Tomáš Holeš, who was the subject of talks between the club and the national team in particular. In addition, the national team in this case took into account the player’s workload in recent weeks and individual agreement with the player.
Regarding Lukáš Masopust, there were no similar urgent requests from Slavia and the player wanted to board himself. The situation was further complicated by the injury of Milan Havel, who was unable to start in Wales at all and who was to share the work with Lukáš Masopust according to the original plans.
The topic of the load of players at the national team level is not only faced by the Czech national team, but is also being solved by the whole world. We understand that the interest of clubs, especially those fighting in European cups, is to relieve the player if possible. In our opinion, the only possible solution in this direction is communication between all parties involved.
At the same time, we would like to wish Slavia good luck in the upcoming UEFA European Conference League matches.
