Weesp proudly shows its volunteers to Amsterdam
WEESP We have a lot to be proud of in Weesp. A historic city center, beautiful monuments, a rich club life, enthusiastic entrepreneurs and much more. But also a large network of volunteers. To show this to Amsterdam, the Vrijwilligerscentrale Weesp made a film.
On 1 June 2019, the municipalities of Weesp and Amsterdam officially merged. And since March 24, 2022, Weesp has been an urban area of Amsterdam. To show Amsterdam that they have gold in their hands with all those fantastic Weesper volunteers, the Vrijwilligerscentrale Weesp had a film made.
The video was aimed at the official program ‘Wednesday in the Grote Kerk’ on Wednesday in the Grote Kerk. Amongst others, Council members, regional mayors, the King’s Commissioner, committee members and the Municipal Executive of Amsterdam were present.
Many organizations and volunteers in Weesp have contributed to this video, such as Versa Welzijn, FC Weesp, Municipality of Wesopa, De Wintertuin, the locations of Vivium (Oversingel and Hogewey), Weesp Gastvrij, Museum Weesp, De Gooise Music School, Plusbus Weesp and neighborhood room de Kastanje . Makers of the film are Rick Folkertsma and Melle Willemsen of IDE Productions. The text of the video was written by Nora Schenk and narrated by Jaap van Deurzen (former RTL Nieuws reporter and resident of Weesp).
