Unknown people tie up elderly couple and rob apartment
In Mühlthal near Frankfurt, criminals attacked an elderly couple in their apartment, tied them up and then fled with the stolen goods. The police are now looking for the perpetrators.
Unknown perpetrators attacked, tied up and robbed an elderly couple in their apartment in Mühltal in southern Hesse (Darmstadt-Dieburg district). The criminals got into the apartment in the Traisa district of the 82-year-old and his 77-year-old wife late Monday evening, the police said on Tuesday.
After the perpetrators tied up the couple, they demanded the return of money and valuables. The perpetrators then fled with an unknown amount of money and jewelry.
According to the information, the 77-year-old managed to free himself from the shackles and to call the emergency services. The couple received medical attention after the robbery, but neither of them suffered any external surgery, a police spokeswoman said. A large-scale search for the perpetrators has so far been unsuccessful. Due to the ongoing investigation, the police initially gave no further information about the incident.
