Since last January, the case has been dealt with by the District Court for Prague 4. This year, however, there was a reversal. He was taken care of by Ostrava lawyer Petr Kausta, who represents the survivors of Pavel Kikloš and a severely injured police officer. Based on the report he had prepared, the entire case was transferred to a higher court, the Municipal Court in Prague. He solves serious crimes, where the lower limit of the penalty is five years. The conclusions of the expert report brought about a change in the legal classification from death due to negligence to general threat.
The woman who caused the death of the Ostrava police officer: I don’t remember
The tragic accident was caused by Jitka R. In her drunkenness and speed approaching 200 kilometers per hour, she crashed into the back of a company car, whose crew was returning from the capital to Ostrava. Pavol Kikloš, sitting in the back, died on the spot, another police officer and his colleague in front suffered serious injuries.
Jitka R., who changed her lawyer, reiterated in court on Thursday that she does not remember the ride itself. She and her husband and children went to the pool then. Her husband experienced flirting with a strange woman. In anger, therefore, he began to drink alcohol. Then they came home, where they had a family quarrel together.

This was also confirmed by her husband, who slapped the woman two slaps. After smoking on the balcony, he registered her getting into the car. He followed her in another car. On the way, the driver first caused a minor accident, from which she drove away. Then came a tragic impact. She had two per mille in her blood. Jitka R. allegedly remembers only the scene from the pool, then she began to perceive the situation when she is with the police officer at the barriers. I don’t know what happened in between. Along the way, the driver also endangered the crews of a number of vehicles in which children also sat.
The main trial was postponed to April. The defense demands the re-examination of some witnesses, which it is entitled to after the case has been transferred to another court. Experts will also be heard.
