The water accident hit Prague 13 on Tuesday night. There are dozens of streets without water. The problem is so serious that some schools will be closed on Wednesday because of it. According to Prague Waterworks and Sewerage, the repair can take up to several days.
The Prague Water Supply and Sewerage (PVK) reported on a serious water accident in Prague 13 on Tuesday evening. The accident happened at the Kopanina reservoir in Líšnická Street. About 77,000 people in the localities of Jinonice, Stodůlek, Ořech, Řeporyj, Zadní Kopaniny and parts of Prague 13 found themselves without water.
“Due to the water accident and the unfavorable forecast of PVK (Prague Water Supply and Sewerage), we are forced to close our school facilities for one day (Wednesday), about which we inform our parents by all means,” Mayor Pavel Novotný wrote in Facebook. The Repory Authority will also be out of operation on Wednesday.
The closure of some schools also applies to other parts of Prague 13. “Šthe wheels, which were without water, declared the director’s leave, and we will try to keep the schools in dangerous mode. Please follow the information from individual schools and schools on their websites, “said Prague 13.
PVK is now dealing with drinking water supply. “We have deployed all available capacity. Due to the extent of the accident and possible complications during repairs, it is not possible at this time to determine a more precise date and time for the resumption of drinking water supplies,” said company spokesman Tomáš Mrázek.
