The Prague Zoo – Cysnews has already started the 91st season
The arrival of the legumes or the opening of the new Gorilla Pavilion – they can look forward to these other news in the upcoming 91st, which was ceremoniously opened today by the Prague Zoo. The main theme of the event was also a collection to help zoos in Ukraine and programs for refugee Ukrainian families.

“The Prague Zoo is constantly evolving and with authentic exhibits brings the natural life of animals closer to the public. The new Gorilla Pavilion will once again be something completely unique. Transferred visitors to the Cameroonian landscape full of plants and sounds of the local nature, “ Deputy Hlubuček outlines the atmosphere of the planned pavilion.
In addition to the upcoming plans, the activities of the Prague Zoo to help war-threatened breeding facilities in Ukraine and refugeed Ukrainian women and children were also a key topic at the launch of the event.
So far, we have managed to raise over CZK 3,170,000 on a special sub-account of the “We Help Them Survive” collection. With a part of the selected funds, the Prague Zoo has already sent a total of three transports with feed and the necessary equipment for the Ukrainian zoo, and additional money was donated directly to the Mykolaiv Zoo, the Kharkov Zoo and the Berdyansk Safari Zoo.
This effort was praised by the Ukrainian Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Yevhen Perebyjnis, who received a symbolic check of 10,000 euros from Director Miroslav Bobek to help the Mykolaiv Zoo.

As part of the afternoon program, there was a fashion show of children’s uniforms at the Prague Zoo, which those interested could buy on the spot.
Furthermore, a special collection of shirts with a motif of legumes and authentic African dresses was presented. The culmination of the program block was the resumption of operation of the children’s tram.
Visitors also had the opportunity to finally introduce themselves and name the young endangered species of silver gibbons, which was born last November 20.
Deputy Mayor Petr Hlubuček and the director of the Volkswagen passenger car division, Patrik Fejtek, christened a four-month-old male named Claire. It is Volkswagen that has become the new main automotive partner of the Prague Zoo.
We also expected a rich program, including the opening of the exhibition “Gentle Giants” and the baptism of the calendar of the same name, whose godparents became the popular actress Veronika Khek Kubařová and the well-known film director FA Brabec.
