Next Antwerp sponsor drops out: Vinci Energies no longer wants LED advertising
After three sponsors and a partner, another sponsor of Antwerp FC has dropped out. VINCI Energies announces that it will no longer be on the LED boarding along the field until this season and that it will no longer use its box at the Bosuil.

Earlier this week it was announced that Select Group, a federal insurance company, will not renew their sponsorship contract after this season due to the appointment of sporting director Marc Overmars. The Antwerp hospital group ZNA also set up a collaboration with Antwerp on-hold. VINCI Energies follows that example, but says of the next season that still wants to work with the club.
With VINCI Energies, a fourth sponsor is withdrawing as a partner of Antwerp after Marc Overmars has been appointed as director of football affairs. “As an inclusive and diverse company, we strongly disapprove of the behavior of Mr. Overmars,” says CEO Marc Lemaire. “Everyone deserves a second chance. Only in the case of Marc Overmars it comes much too soon for us. Just to be clear: I understand that as a sponsor we have nothing to say about the sporting decisions that the club makes. I can only say that we as a company can no longer afford to be described as Antwerp.”
In concrete terms, VINCI Energies has asked to no longer be visible on the LED boarding in the stadium. The lodge that the company has on the Bosuil will also remain empty for the rest of the season. “We will discuss with our Board of Directors if we sponsor Antwerp next season,” said Lemaire.
