Ships Els van Doesburg (N-VA) not pleased with Click action Ukraine: “I expressly distance myself from this” (Antwerp)
The promotion for the companies of Ukraine by Fost Plus, the companies behind the Click application, is not well received by aldermen of City and Neighborhood Maintenance Els van Doesburg (N-VA). “This is below all standards and I therefore expressly distance myself from this,” said the aldermen.

Click is a project in which people save points for a discount in shops and restaurants by scanning the litter they throw in the trash can with their smartphone. After the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, the companies announced this application an action for implementation. They want to donate 25,000 euros to the users who together receive 25,000 times from Click.
“This is a commercial action with the intention of embellishing the figures about how many people Click,” says van Doesburg. “There was also no consultation with me from the city of Antwerp about this. I think this action is below par. I therefore expressly distance myself from this.”
The ships is also unimpressed by the effect of Click. The pilot project started in Antwerp in July. Antwerp city councilor Koen Laenens (N-VA) polled the aldermen for the results. It got off to a slow start. Until March 2 this year there were 16,483 clicks, i.e. scans of litter that was thrown in the garbage.
“It may be clicks, but we no longer see much waste in the garbage cans and the litter on the street is really not decreasing now,” says van Doesburg. “Probably the clicks come from the people who already correctly dispose of their waste for this project.”
Click will be in July. The chance that it will be continued in Antwerp would be fairly small.
