This is how Eintracht Frankfurt is planning the transfer summer | hessenschau.de
Daichi Kamada, Filip Kostic, Evan N’Dicka and Tuta are only under contract with Eintracht Frankfurt until 2023. Sports director Markus Krösche may have to master a major upheaval this summer.
Sports director Markus Krösche faces a Herculean task in the summer. Daichi Kamada, Filip Kostic, Evan N’Dicka and Tuta are key players for Hessen. Your contracts may not expire until 2023, but the question that already arises this year is: extend or sell?
Krösche cannot rule out the departure of stars
Krösche himself wants to avoid an upheaval that would result from the departure of the axis. “I am a friend of continuity. This creates automatisms, fewer fluctuations in performance can be expected,” said the Eintracht sports director at a press conference on Wednesday.
However, this scenario may not be avoidable. “It depends on what the players want. Will there be a contract extension? If that’s not the case, there will automatically be a situation where we have to sell.”
Decisions should be made in the coming weeks
The star quartet should make decisions by August 31st. That’s when the summer transfer window closes. At best, the planning can be pushed ahead earlier. “We’ll see how the talks develop over the next few weeks. But it’s possible that one or the other player will leave us,” admitted Krösche.
At Tuta, the 41-year-old is optimistic about staying. “We are in close contact with his advisor and will see if we can finalize it. Both parties want to extend their contract and go into the future together.” Krösche added: “Now we have to see that we put it on paper.”
Income can hardly be reinvested
But everything is still open at Tuta. If the Brazilian and the key players Kamada, Kostic and N’Dicka actually go in the end, Eintracht will not be able to fully reinvest the money in difficult Corona times. “The German clubs in particular will use the income to pay off their debts or strengthen their equity,” explained Krösche.
The head of the supervisory board, Philip Holzer, recently revealed in the FAZ that there is not much left of the 80 million euros in equity. There is a risk of a loss of 70 to 80 million euros due to the corona. The safe departures of Aymen Barkok (Mainz 05), Danny Da Costa and Stefan Ilsanker, whose expiring contracts will not be extended, give little new leeway.
Eintracht must change transfer strategy
In the search for potential successors, Eintracht therefore has to adjust its strategy. With a player like Randal Kolo Muani coming from Nantes for free, the competition is between AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. An agreement has therefore already been reached with Aurélio Buta, Jérome Onguéné and Hrvoje Smolcic, Marcel Wenig and Faride Alidou are sure to come. Be there before others wake up: That’s the motto.
The top clubs are looking at countries and table areas that were not interesting in this category ten years ago. “We need to be even faster and more efficient to meet the demands and achieve our goals. It’s about convincing the players that they can help us and that we can make them better.”
“Have to increase speed completely”
Krösche demands: “That’s why we have to increase the speed completely.” So that impending departures, such as those of Kamada, Kostic, N’Dicka or Tuta, can also be compensated for and Eintracht can remain competitive in the race for international places.
