“On the verge of breaking up”, around fifty teachers from colleges and high schools gather in Dijon
The alarm bell is still ringing at teachers from colleges and high schools to Dijon. About fifty people gathered this Wednesday, March 23 in front of the rectorate of the Academy of Dijon, at the call of the unions Force Ouvrière, SNES-FSU and CGT.
In their sights, the elimination of about forty posts in the Academy for the next start of the school year in September.
Several Dijon establishments were represented, teachers from the regional high school and the College of Montchapet, the Lentillères college, the Eiffel high school, the Hippolyte Fontaine high school, the Le Castel high school. Teachers from Châlon-sur-Saône and Louhans (Saône-et-Loire) were also present.
Resources still insufficient for the start of the school year in September 2022
“On the Verge of Breaking”, the teachers always denounce a lack of resources in the face of overworked staff. The concern is strong, especially for the start of the school year in September 2022.
“We don’t have the means to make the next school year in the right conditions at all” point Cécile, philosophy teacher at Lycée Montchapet.
“The quantified threshold of 35 students is not tenable with our missions. The numerical logic is unbearable, we have been losing resources for 7 years” criticizes this teacher, who speaks of the consequences “dramatic” for students and teachers if working conditions are not improved.
“We are going to fight and we will refuse missions if we are not listened to. We will refuse voluntary missions such as the function of main teacher or to ensure the coordination of a discipline. And for now, dialogue is blocked, a last-minute hearing was refused by the inter-union. Teachers will be received at a union hearing this Friday, March 25 in several establishments such as the college-high school Montchapet in Dijon. They will also be received this Tuesday, March 29 by the deputy secretary general of the rectorate of the Academy of Dijon.
