In Lyon, real estate prices are starting to stall
In Lyon, housing prices have tended to stall for several months. Until then, nothing surprisingly good since most major French cities are experiencing a slowdown in the rate of growth of their real estate selling prices. Nevertheless, it is interesting to note that Lyon stands out from other metropolises with particularly slight increases. So the price per m² in Lyon only recorded an annual increase of 1.6% to reach €5,568. This is less than the previous month, because the annual increase had then reached 2.8%. It should also be noted that the whole of Greater Lyon Metropolis is affected by this phenomenon, with an increase over 1 year of only 0.8% for apartments (€4,507/m²) and even a significant drop of 14.4% for houses (€5,276/m²).
While a slowdown in prices has been observed in Lyon and other cities such as Bordeaux, other medium-sized cities are seeing their selling prices literally explode: in 31% of cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants, the price increase is more than 10% over 1 year. In 11% of these cities, the annual increase is even greater than 15%. Among cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants, the fastest increases were recorded in Angers and Tours, with obligations of 17.4 and 17.5% respectively.
