Help for Ukraine: Prague is also sending technology.
The capital is primarily trying to help Ukrainian refugees in Prague. The Regional Assistance Center for Assistance to Ukraine in the Congress Center is bursting at the seams every day, more and more accommodation capacities are being sought, and city districts are increasing the capacity of schools and kindergartens so that Ukrainian children have access to education as soon as possible. Now the council of the capital m Prague also agreed to send directly to Ukraine in addition to financial and humanitarian aid and technical assistance.
“We are sending a large-capacity off-road special Atego Dakar to help paramedics in Ukraine! ”Mayor Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates) posted on his Twitter account. Atego Dakar uses the Prague rescue service during emergencies, such as fires, and the car serves as a base, among other things. The rescue special measures 3.5 meters in height, 2.5 meters in width and 7 meters in length. The rear of the car is specially adapted for the transport of up to 8 lying patients. There are also 5 seatswhich can benefit both less injured patients and doctors.
Atego is also fully equipped medical supplies, including oxygen cylinders or defibrillators. Access to the cab is then solved through the rear part, which can either be hydraulically tilted, or only the door in its center, to which the steps lead, can be used.
“The ability to move paramedics quickly is proving crucial, as is escorting civilians from shelled cities within humanitarian corridors. Atego increases the evacuation capacity for injured people from less accessible areas and provide repatriation vehicles to provide assistance in places where the medical infrastructure has been disrupted, “emphasized the car commander Richard Smejkal of the Central Crisis Team of the Czech Red Cross.
But Atego is not the only technique that will come to Ukraine. “To help patients with urgent care, we will also send to Ukraine trescue SUV adapted for movement in difficult terrain, two repatriation trucks with stretchers and 20 power plants to provide the necessary energy. It is therefore top equipment even in an inhospitable war environment, “Hřib added.
According to the director of the Prague rescue service, Petr Kolouch, Praguers do not have to worry about missing this technique if necessary. “Equipment donated to help Ukraine we can replace in normal operationso that the impact on the provision of care to patients in Prague is minimal, but at the same time we are counting on its gradual replacement in our fleet, ”he concluded.
