The Matěj pilgrimage in Prague is in full swing. It belonged to Ukrainian children and the disabled
“For about thirty years, we have been organizing this day regularly for the disabled, children from children’s homes or shelters. This year we also added children who fled Ukraine. He should have a smile on his face and he should forget a little about what is happening at their home, “wishes the co-organizer of the pilgrimage Eva Kočková.
That is why a Ukrainian woman from the Transcarpathian region took her five-year-old and seven-year-old son on a pilgrimage on Monday. “We are here today for the children to be happy and play. So that they do not know what is happening and how it is for us, their parents, “she described.
“My city of Kherson is now occupied, people are suffering. This is a rest for us, my children are frightened by the war. I thank the Czech Republic for welcoming us, “a woman who took her two children to the fair told Novinka.

Due to the reconstruction of the Industrial Palace, the Matěj Fair takes place only in the lower part of the complex, so this year it offers about a third less attractions than in previous years.
“There are now over 100 attractions here, including games, shooting ranges and stalls. This year’s novelty is the largest adrenaline attraction in Europe called Airborne. It is a 65-meter arm that rotates at speeds of up to 120 km / h, and the bench rotates in all directions, ”describes Kočková.

It was also tried by an eight-member Ukrainian family, which was filled with adrenaline and feelings of joy a few minutes later. “Legs are shaking, hands are shaking,” one of the women describes. “It was great, we want it again,” her daughter shouts.
None of them hides their enthusiasm and they enjoy this day at the Matěj Fair.
In addition to the greatest adrenaline experience, Matějská pout also offers a ferris wheel, an 80-meter carousel, and there is also a haunted house, a roller coaster and autodromes.
People can visit it on any other day, it is always open from Tuesday to Friday free of charge and on weekends for an entrance fee of 30 crowns. The price of individual attractions then ranges from 50 to 150 crowns.

In Prague, other institutions offered similar events for Ukrainian refugees. The Troja Zoo offers Ukrainian women and children admission for a symbolic crown, and regularly prepares Ukrainian days for them with guided tours translated into Ukrainian.
The content of its exhibits has been translated into landscape, for example, by the National Agricultural Museum in Prague 7, where Ukrainian visitors have free entry. It is also offered by the Prague Jewish Museum. The Museum of the Capital City of Prague offers entry for a symbolic crown.
