Sparta also managed the second quarterfinals with Liberec, winning 3: 2
Prague – The Sparta hockey players defeated the Liberec extra-league 3: 2 in the second quarterfinal of the play-offs and lead 2: 0 in the series played for four wins. All goals fell in the first period, the winning shot of the Prague team was taken care of by David Tomášek. The series continues on Friday in Saturday in Liberec.
“We expected that we would not repeat the scenario from the first match. Today was a fierce fight, the first period was livelier on goals, but then it calmed down a bit. In the end, it was important for us that we did not let the opponents into an extra chance and team Josef Jandač, the coach of the home team, praised himself.
The North Bohemians entered the match after Monday’s debacle and could open the score at the beginning of the second period. The home team quickly leveled the game, but collected first. Sparta was penalized for too many players on the ice, and Šmíd took advantage of the initial power play of the match, crossing the entire course and beating Machovský.
A minute later, however, the guests also played at six and the Praguers evened out in a flash. Sobotka finished the power play after thirteen seconds. In the 13th minute, Matuškin prepared a goal for Němeček and Sparta with an accurate cross pass. Immediately, the Tigers went to three, and although the 59-second-long double power play was used by the home team, even before the first of the eliminated Spreads came into play, the emphatic Tomášek prevailed.
However, there were still fewer guests in the power play, when the puck Vlach pushed the power play behind Machovský. Referee Lacina acknowledged the goal of Ordoš’s previous contact with Sparta’s goalkeeper and the coaching challenge of the home team. According to the referees, Sparta Jurčina was responsible for the clash.
“They’ve been thinking for a long time if we should take some. We’ve had shots, and the rules are that when our player pushes into an opponent, it’s not an illegal goalie’s defense. He jumped willingly, but I succumbed more to the pressure of the boys, because our video coach said that he would not marry, “said Jandač.
Liberec striker Jaroslav Vlach, on the other hand, was sure that the goal would be valid. “I didn’t know at first, but when we saw the replay on the dice, I saw that the Spartan defender pushed Honza Ordoš into the goalkeeper. He didn’t fall there himself. I still saw the puck and tried to follow him. He stayed at the goal area, so I he arrived, “Vlach said.
In the 24th minute, they were able to increase the lead of the home team Sobotka with Řepík, who got themselves ahead of Kváč. But the Liberec goalie set off Captain Sparta’s attempt. Emotions in the second part dropped significantly, the people of Prague had more chances to score, but Kváča caught up reliably.
At the beginning of the third part, Chlapík could have added a fourth goal, but even the most productive player of the basic part did not beat the Liberec goalkeeper. Both teams tried mainly not to make a mistake and not to offer their opponents a significant opportunity. In the end, Sparta maintained a close win and scored the win behind it, including the end of the basic part.
“It was an excellent team performance. From behind the goalkeeper, through the defender, to the attackers. Superbly soaked. We knew that they would not place in Liberec, that they would not defeat themselves. We knew that they would come after us, that they would be more active. they won, “praised Vladimír Sobotka.
