Hanover (dpa / lni) – The effects of the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine are the focus of today’s session of the Lower Saxony state parliament. Prime Minister Stephan Weil (SPD) has announced a government statement on this. The Greens are also applying for a special fund worth five billion euros, which is intended, among other things, to support refugees – but the proposal has little chance of success.
Due to the persistently high number of corona cases, the pandemic is once again on the agenda after the federal regulations on infection protection were relaxed. The “last week” had described the easing as too early for both the SPD and the CDU as well as the Greens – only the FDP defended the procedure.
The government factions of the SPD and CDU also want to decide on the rural doctor quota to ensure medical care in the countryside. However, the draft law provides that the first earmarked medical study places will not be filled until the winter semester 2023/24 – and thus a year later than originally planned. In the future, 60 medical study places per year will be given preference to applicants who have volunteered to work as a general practitioner in underserved regions for ten years.
