Driemond from Zuidoost to urban area Weesp
After March 24, Driemond will no longer be part of the Zuidoost district, but of the new Weesp-Driemond urban area. So something changes for Driemonders.
As of March 24, 2022, Weesp will officially belong to the municipality of Amsterdam. With the merger with Weesp, Amsterdam will thus gain a whole new urban area. We know 7 city districts and the Weesp urban area.
For Driemond, this means that they no longer belong to the Southeast, but to Weesp. Driemond will thus have a completely new board and new contact persons. And Driemonders will also receive an edition of the Amsterdam newspaper together with Weespers.
City area
A city area is slightly different from a city district. The Weesp-Driemond urban area, for example, will have its own board committee, consisting of 11 members. They elect a daily board from among themselves, which will consist of three members. The daily management of Weesp works closely with the other city districts, the city council of Amsterdam and the municipal executive.
Contacts
Driemonders also have to deal with other contacts for their neighbourhood. She another area team with new area brokers. You can read more about who they are and how the board committee works at www.amsterdam.nl/weesp.
