The city of Lyon will host the EuroGames, an LGBT+ sporting event, in 2025
The Capital of Gaul will host the most important LGBT+ sporting event in Europe.
The French LGBT+ athlete made the decision to apply for the organization of the EuroGames in 2025, and it was the City of Lyon that won.
For four days, from July 23 to 27, 2025, more than 3,500 athletes from all over Europe and the world can compete in more than 20 disciplines.
These games should make it possible to exchange and raise awareness among participants and spectators around themes such as “LGBT+ disabled sport, the fight against serophobia, the notions of gender and sexual orientation”.
The mayor of Lyon, Grégory Doucet described “immense pride for our city of Lyon”.
Organized by the City of Lyon, the Office des Sports de Lyon as well as a large number of sports clubs and associations from Lyon and the region, these games, open to all, will be organized under the flag of inclusion and diversity.
As a reminder, the EuroGames have taken place every year in a different European city since 1992 and bring together between 2,000 and 5,000 athletes, “regardless of age, gender identity or physical ability”.
