Other charity concerts are being held in Prague today to help Ukraine
All performers move away from royalties. Proceeds from the performance at the Church of the Savior will be donated to the Czech Red Cross’s aid to Ukraine. The funds raised in Lucerne will go to people affected by the war through People in Need.
Ondřej G. Brzobohatý and members and students of the Prague Symphony Orchestra will perform at the concert entitled Help with Music in Ukraine at the U Salvátora Church. m Prague FOK, Czech Philharmonic, Music Academy of Performing Arts and Prague Conservatory. The concert will also be streamed live on youtube and facebook. It will also be possible to contribute online.
“We know that the bag has almost torn with similar events, and it’s very good, but I believe that our concert is unique in terms of musicians and scope,” said the organizers.
Cellist Jan Zvěřina will perform with the Prague Cello Trio at a benefit concert for Ukraine at the Lucerna cinema. His music videos have tens of millions of views around the world. During the covid pandemic, a freelance musician came up with the idea for a 12X solo project. The name points to the twelve professions he will take during the creation.
“The events in Ukraine touch me deeply, but at the same time I am hoped for the huge wave of solidarity. I am very happy to offer people what I can do for their help – music, “said Zvěřina.
Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, the Czech cultural scene has decided to define a connection to the common challenge #culture and Ukraine. Many Czech cultural, academic and social institutions provide support to Ukraine. Benefit concerts, film and theater performances take place.
