Man (53) in life-threatening condition for a while after a café quarrel in Antwerp (Antwerp)
A 53-year-old man was seriously injured on Saturday after a bar fight got out of hand in the Grote Pieter Potstraat in Antwerp. On arrival at the hospital there was even talk of a life-threatening situation. The police have launched an investigation and are looking for the perpetrators.
The discussion arose Saturday night in the Grote Pieter Potstraat in the center of Antwerp, in front of the dance café De Vuile Was. For a reason still unclear, that discussion degenerated into a skirmish between the 53-year-old man and a simple of four bar goers. According to witnesses, the victim fell to the ground at one point, but the perpetrators kept hitting and kicking him.
The victim was taken to hospital. “On arrival at the hospital, there was even talk of a life-threatening situation,” said Willem Migom of the Antwerp police. Possible events also increased, but were no longer on site when the police arrived. They are tracked down with the help of camera images and witness statements.
The police also found publication last Friday for a big fight between different partygoers in the Moose Bar on the Moerelei in Wilrijk. Two people were slightly injured. “When we arrived it was already over, although there was still a troublemaker who would stir up the people.
