Where to eat this weekend in Florence (19 and 20 March)
This weekend can you treat yourself to a close encounter with full plates, glasses of wine, hands that could get greasy and many, too many, goodies? If the answer is yes, here are our proposals for eating out, even on the street, this weekend.
What to do this weekend in Florence
Morning temptations and more
The Silvano and Valentino pastry shop, in via Niccolò Paganini, is one of the most popular in Florence. Its story begins in 1979 when two brothers-in-law, Silvano and Valentino precisely, decided to set up their own business by taking over the Nistri pastry shop. Before setting up on their own, the partners had worked, refining their technique and professionalism, in some of the most prestigious clubs in the historic center of Florence.
From cakes to traditional leavened products (doves, panettone etc …) to sweet pieces for breakfast, but also stuffed sandwiches and pizza if you prefer savory. In short, a perfect place for both breakfast and a snack.
Dine on the way
“Aurelio i Re di Lampredotto” is one of the obligatory stops if you love the lampredotto. The kiosk in Piazza Tanucci serves lampredotto, offal, grilled sausage, tripe salad, sandwiches or dishes to eat on the spot, while walking or to take home.
Tuscany what goodness
Il Naccaro, in Piazza Gavinana, is the perfect restaurant for those who want to eat Tuscan. Goodness and tradition have always rhymed with their culinary offer. At lunch, the menu of the day is always presented, with a wide choice of first courses with seasonal ingredients. The fixed menu includes ribollita, pappa al pomodoro, peposo and wild boar.
Appetizer
Do you want an aperitif that speaks straight to your soul? The Soul Kitchen, in via de ‘Benci, 34R, is the place for you. For years his buffet has made diners dream, but the renewed appearance – without the buffet – will not make you regret the choice, indeed. Refined but simple dishes, with a wide choice also for vegetarians and vegans. Typical of the cuisine are the “Cult”: a single dish that combines several tastings together. The restaurant is located one step away from Piazza Santa Croce and is the perfect mix of cuisine, bar and music.
The flavors of a distant land
Dim Sum in Via Magliabechi 9r is the perfect restaurant if you are looking for good Chinese cuisine with a fusion touch. The restaurant’s workhorses are two: ravioli and noodles made by hand and on the spot. The first courses are offered with various fillings, some traditional with meat or fish, others more particular, for example with Chianina, with truffles or lardings that perfectly combine Tuscan and Chinese cuisine. As for the noodles, if you order a dish you will be able to see one of the chefs preparing them on the spot. On the menu there are many variations in broth or stir fry or sautéed with meat, fish or vegetable seasonings.
