Queen Mathilde meets a group of Ukrainian scouts in Belgium
The Queen of the Belgians met a rather special unit of scouts. The members of this group have Ukrainian origins and come together like all the other scout units in Belgium, while valuing the community aspect of their origins.

The Queen of the Belgians receives a unit of Ukrainian scouts to congratulate
Queen Mathilde wanted to meet the members of the Ukrainian scouts unit in Belgium and thank them for their mobilization. Since the start of the war in Ukraine, young Flemings, most of whom are of Ukrainian origin, have managed to collect 45,000 euros. The money allocated by the scouts will be used to purchase humanitarian and medical equipment, HLN report.

Julian, Lilia and Taras were invited to a TV set in Flanders to talk about their engagement and their meeting with Queen Mathilde. The young scouts were particularly proud to have secured the attention of the queen and to have been able to know her.
The King and Queen are particularly affected by the situation in Ukraine. The sovereigns link visits and public engagements in connection with this cause. This week, we also learned that the Royal Donation was providing two apartments to house three families of Ukrainian refugees.
A little boy said after the visit that he must have been dreaming he was so amazed by the presence of the queen. Another little girl was a little disappointed: “I thought she would wear a crown on her head or something.” Queen Mathilde made a very good impression and her naturalness was noticed by the children. “I think it must be a good mom”said one of the children.
