The Holy Mass from the St. Veit am Vogau pilgrimage church in Styria can be celebrated on ServusTV from 9.15 a.m. Pastor Robert Strohmaier celebrates with the congregation. From 10 a.m., ORF III and the Austrian regional radio stations will broadcast a church service from the parish of Innsbruck-Kranebitten in Tyrol, which was co-organized by parish councillors. The entrance is accompanied by John Benett’s “Adagio from a voluntary”, for communion fugues from the series “Preambuli e Fughe per Organo” by Johann Baptist Peyer, “May the blessing of God hug you” by Kurt Mikula, a composition by Henry Heron for the exodus as well as songs from the praise of God. Beate Spöck plays the organ, Christa Lang is the musical director. After the service (11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.) there is the possibility to contact Pastor Bernhard Kranebitter, parish curator Markus Leitinger and pastoral assistant in training, Elisabeth Steiner (Tel.: 0800 1002260 for calls from Austria and Germany, Tel.: 0800 100226 for calls from Switzerland).
St. Veit am Vogau is located in the district of Leibnitz in southern Styria. After the merger with the neighboring communities of St. Nikolai ob Drassling and Weinburg am Sassbach, the community is officially called St. Veit in southern Styria. The master builder of the baroque pilgrimage church of St. Vitus was the Styrian architect Joseph Hueber. The church with the two mighty towers was built between 1748 and 1768. The impressive paintings on the vaulted ceiling are by the painter Felix Barazutti. The figures bear the facial features of his employees, financiers and people from the region. Among other things, Karl Marx is also shown, who speaks to the workers with a raised hand. The church is dedicated to Saint Vitus, whose name day is celebrated on June 15th.
gottesdienst.at: New website about service transmissions
A new ecumenical website aims to respond to the growing need for media participation in church services on TV, radio and via streaming. Under www.gottesdienst.at The most important transmissions of the coming week are displayed on ORF, Servus TV and in the Austrian regional radio stations, as well as streaming offers and transmissions of church services, for example from “radio klassik” or “Radio Maria”. Each of the larger services has its own sub-pages with information about the parish as well as the selection of songs and sermons. In addition, prayer requests and intercessions can be decided, which are then transmitted to the congregations.
