D26: Saint-Brieuc is even better
If Laval, Annecy and Bourg won, the success of Stade Briochin in Villefranche (3-1, photo) marked the 26th day of National, Friday evening. Last match Monday between Concarneau and Châteauroux.
The highlight of this 26th day of National could have been:
– the victory of Laval stadium against FC Sète (1-0), which assures the Mayenne to retain their place as leader, whatever the result of US Concarneau (2nd) against Berrichonne de Châteauroux on Monday (8:45 p.m., live on Canal + Sport);
– or the success of FC Annecy against FC Bastia-Borgo (3-1), which allows the Hauts-Savoyards to temporarily return to the height of the Breton team, in any case to remain in third place.
– or even that of Bourg-en-Bresse traveling to CS Sedan-Ardennes (2-0), which kept the Burgiens (4th) very close to the podium and therefore in the race for the climb.
But no. The real highlight of the evening comes from the victory of the Briochin Stadium on the ground of FC Villefranche-Beaujolais (3-1), a new coup for a Breton formation which is currently multiplying them. The griffins (9th) may not be among the candidates for Ligue 2 but they have just beaten Châteauroux (2-0), Annecy (4-2), Bourg-en-Bresse (1-0) in succession and therefore Villefranche!

THE RESULTS
SAINT-BRIEUC IS ON FIRE
Nothing impresses Stade Briochin anymore. Not even Adrien Pagerie’s opener for FC Villefranche (1-0, 37th). The Bretons were able to react quickly by Ahmad Allée on a maliciously transformed free kick (1-1, 44th, see below). Then they were transformed into taking advantage of the expulsion of Malcom Bokele (56th) to knock out the Caladois in the space of two minutes, by Ahmad Allée once again (1-2, 79th) and by Valentin Lavigne on the commitment which followed (1-3, 80th). On the contrary, it is Saint-Brieuc that impresses.
7
Seven days in a row without defeat for Stade Briochin (5 wins, 2 draws).
2
Villefranche concedes its second loss at home in two matches (Annecy, Saint-Brieuc).

LAVAL HOLDS THE COURSE
Stade Lavallois did not have an easy game at home against FC Sète. The Mayenne leader relied on the opportunism of Kader N’Chobi (Photo), on a miss from the Hérault goalkeeper (1-0, 38th, see below), to win the minimum and become the first team to reach the fifty-point mark this season.

Laval signed its sixteenth victory of the season in twenty-six matches (61.5%).

FC Sète remains on nine games without success (3 draws, 5 defeats).

ANNECY COSTUME
A penalty from Moulaye Idrissa Ba (0-1, 22nd) allowed FC Bastia-Borgo to create an illusion in Haute-Savoie. But not to contain the Annecy reaction initiated by Madyen El Jahouari (1-1, 35th), extended by Alexandre Fillon (2-1, 66th, see below) and concluded by Godson Kyeremeh (3-1, 78th).
27
FC Annecy took twenty-seven points at home this season out of a possible thirty-six.

Bastia-Borgo has never won away from home this season (3 draws, 10 losses).

BOURG-EN-BRESSE RECOVER
After two draws and a defeat, the Burgiens returned to success on the road to Sedan (2-0). They owe their Cameroonian striker Paul-Arnold Garita, author of a superb double in the second half: a cross shot from the right into the side net after a directed control (0-1, 68th); a breakaway and a victorious slalom in the area to come and score close (0-2, 90th + 2).

Bourg-en-Bresse reinforces its status as the best attack with 45 goals scored.

Paul-Arnold Garita had not scored in the league for eleven days.

OTHER MATCHES
►Wrong operation for Le Mans F.C., held in check at FC Chambly (2-2). The Sarthois have however heard the score twice (including a superb but from Loïc Damour, see below) and ended the match on the power play. A brake for the Manceaux after three successes of affiliation.
►Third consecutive success for the Red Star FC, which was played by US Avranches at the Bauer stadium (2-1), thanks to goals from Pape Meïssa Ba (27th) and Owen Maës (65th). The Audonians have just garnered thirteen points in five days.
►Two matches ended in draws and blanks: US Orleans-SO Cholet and US Boulogne CO-US Créteil-Lusitanos. A nineteenth game without a win for the Boulonnais, who have still not won at home.
15
With 15 goals, Pape Meïssa Ba (Red Star) joins Robinet (Châteauroux) and El Khoumisti (Concarneau) in the scoring charts.
What an exceptional but from Loic Damour for Le Mans FC!
