Slavia Praha lost to Linz 3: 4 at nine, but still advanced to the EKL quarterfinals
It was only a step away from the quarterfinals Slavia Prague before Thursday’s retaliation in the round of the European Conference League against the Austrian LASK Linz. Because she managed very well at home and the opponent escorted him from Eden after the result 4: 1, went to Austria with a relatively comfortable resolution.
And she relatively transferred her well-being to the first half. The initial pressure of the opponent cut in the gallows in the 24th minute Olayinko, to which the locals were able to respond with a stoppage Wiesingra. But a minute later, he escaped the defense of Lin Sor, who recorded Bahoviwho returned Slavia’s leadership. The end of the interesting half was sadder for the guests in the end, because they lost a shattered Ousou.
The beginning of the second half was marked by the necessary pressure of the home team, which, however, managed to break the man’s double match. Yira Sor. In the 62nd minute, he managed a duel with the home stoppers and increased to 3: 1However, Wiesinger answered again in the 76th minute. In the 85th minute, however, Plavšič also received a red card, and from a direct free kick, Gruber equalized and a minute later, Schmidt scored the result.
However, even after a wild half, the Prague club reached the quarterfinals of the EKL despite the loss.
The Prague Stitchers were only one match won from advancing to the quarterfinals of the newly formed European Conference League. Slavia Prague excelled in a domestic match against the then sovereign Austrian opponent LASK Linz and cut off his series of 11 unplayed European matches in a row.
The new acquisition of Slavia z Baník Ostrava became the body of LASK, Yira Sor, who continued his performance in the 16th final of the competition against the Turkish Fenerbahce Istanbul and with two goals grounded the opponent, who took home a 4: 1 loss. Therefore, it was really not enough for the Vršovice people to get into the first ever final eight of the tournament.
Slavia promised herself that she would want to succeed just because of the club boss, Jaroslav Tvrdík, who announced during the week that he was suffering from a serious illness. Although coach Jindřich Trpišovský let it be heard that he could not even sleep because of this information, it could at least reassure her that no matter how she mixed the basic eleven, the players would try to keep her at any cost.
In the first match against LASK, the team was sewn with a hot needle due to the injuries that accompany Slavia throughout the season, while 16-year-old Adam Pudil was given space from the first minute, who was subsequently replaced by his brother Miloš. that he took on Pudil’s post Ivan Schranz and Madsen replaced Ondrej Lingr. In any case, the rest of the team remained the same as in the first match.
Wild half
Linz knew that he only had a chance to succeed when he scored a quick contact goal, so his players were more active and took the baton from the first seconds. Slavic goalkeeper Mandous had to hit the ball three times in the first eight minutes, but no great chance for the home team came. Within ten minutes of the first half, Slavia managed to recover and the game became more balanced.
The stitchers then took over the reins of the match. But their slight embarrassment meant that none of the actions jeopardized Schlager’s goal. Bah had the first big chance in the 22nd minute, whose processing of the sharp center from Olayinka flew just above the crossbar. But two minutes later, the guests could rejoice. At the beginning was goalkeeper Mandous, who first put out Linz’s escape, then the ball was found by Lingra and his pass in 24 minutes placed captain Olayinka shot into the gallows.
Slavia then began to enjoy the game. In the 30th minute, Sor finally got some space, who defended the goalkeeper, but his goal was kicked by the home defender. Linz, when he got to the ball, seemed helpless during the pass. Nevertheless, Michorl kicked the ball in the 36th minute, who pushed Mandous into the post, but pushed it into the goal by force of will. Wiesinger. However, Slavia showed that she plays really well, which the genius Sor did in a minute. He processed the pass halfway through the field, sprinted it and found it Alexandra Baha, who sent the guests back into the lead from the arrival.
Unfortunately, until the end of the half, Slavia was unlucky. Aiham Ousou, who had previously received a yellow card, received a second in the 42nd minute and Slavia went into the top ten. However, the wild half did not see another goal and the locker room went 1: 2.
Half horror
In the 48th minute, Sor ran again and checked the goalkeeper Schlager. Later, however, Linz players tried to increase the pressure, which was facilitated by the number of stitches. However, the men in black managed to achieve all the opponent’s attempts. In the 56th minute, Mandous dealt with Horvatha’s shot, Nakamura’s reflection did not find Slavie’s goal, and Micholr’s shot also ended in Mandous’s gloves.
In addition, Slavia had one specific fighter in the lineup, which caused Linz unprecedented problems. His name was Yira Sor, who got himself in 62 minutes into the match into a duel with two domestic stoppers, he escaped by both lengths and expertly ended up under Schlager. It was his 5 goals in 4 matches in the European Conference League. Linz players lacked emphasis between the three bars, they tried it from behind the lime, but Mandous was ready.
Wiesinger had a fantastic opportunity to put Wiesinger up another goal 76 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Nakamura tested Mandous’s attention in the 83rd minute, when he caught his cross shot. But then another stricter exclusion came on the side of Slavia, when in the 85th minute he went into the shower after the intervention Plavšič and from the ordered direct kick the ball arrived at the goal of Gruber.
The scalded Slavie finally got another goal from Schmidt and played 3: 4. Fortunately, the nine-member team did not get another goal and advanced to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
