Denmark crushed the handball boys in the Golden League – lost by 16 goals – Dagsavisen
It was a pure crossing from the Danes. At the break, Norway was under 12-18, and in the second half it would be really brutal numbers.
In the first quarter there, Denmark scored nine times against the Norwegians’ one goal. Mistakes in attack and speeches in the defense made it possible.
Norway is without more of its biggest stars in the Golden League tournament. Among them are a shoulder injury Sander Sagosen, Magnus Abelvik Rød and Harald Reinkind. This makes the squad a mixture of routine and a lot of young people.
Denmark was also far from making a top team. Christian O’Sullivan became Norwegian top scorer with four goals.
– We talked about using the whole squad, and we got it done, but there are too many technical errors and a shotgun for us to be able to keep up. Some come in and present at a good level, then we get to try to lift ourselves beyond in the tournament, Christian Berge told TV 2.
He will soon resign as Norwegian national team manager. He will in future be the club coach for Kolstad full time. On Thursday, he saw that it is a while before the freshmen in the squad have played together.
– I was very used. It will take more time with these guys. There is still a long way to go, Berge said.
Norway will also meet France and Spain this weekend. They are played in Herning and Aarhus, respectively.
– We must be realistic. It is very good to meet, said Berge about opportunities for Norwegian revenge.
