Where to find out about the traffic situation and accidents in Prague
A person who does not often go to Prague could appreciate that he can park in the parking lots (P + R) and then go safely to the center by public transport. Prague and other drivers are quite aggressive, and sometimes one taps one’s forehead on how crazy people can have a driver’s license.
Especially those who are not used to it on tunnels where they may experience claustrophobic states parallel driving with trams, they should think carefully about how to go around the city. But it only takes a few workouts and you will become seasoned drivers.
However, when something happens in Prague, it is good to avoid such accidents. There is nothing worse than hurrying to your meeting and getting stuck in a convoy because a carom has become on the way. You just have nowhere to go, you can’t avoid the delay, which is not exactly the first one.
What worked for me?
They live in Prague alone and sometimes it’s really about nerves. When I have to be somewhere on time and it’s important, then I make time reserves and so it’s sometimes a minute. However, I drive by Waze application, where current traffic information is beautifully displayed – from road work to more serious accidents. There are also columns on display – from dark red, which you know you have to avoid until you are alerted to objects on the road or iceberg.
According to a survey of friends, the application is really reliable and most of them use it. Those who do not rely on built-in navigation directly in cars, and a minimum of them then use mobile navigation, which is a common part of smartphones.
Where else to look for current information?
In addition to the already mentioned application, you can look at the following pages, which inform about traffic complications on the road:
- TSK Prague – a website where you have all the information nicely and clearly, the degree of traffic is also displayed, but it is for use at home, not behind the wheel, when it is necessary to focus primarily on driving
- Prague Patriot – again nicely processed content of traffic information in one place, including free places in P + R parking lots in Prague
- ÚAMK – a less clear map, where you can identify the places of closures, possible traffic accidents
- Nebrzdi – a map that shows currently navigable roads in color, and the list also includes information about traffic situations in the streets of Prague
