The American convoys will return to Germany. There is a traffic history behind Prague
In the same way as in mid-February towards Slovakia, where the NATO Saber Strike 2022 Rapid Reaction Force cooperative took place, US military convoys will travel through Central Bohemia back to their bases in Germany in the coming days. The D1, Prague ring road or D0 and D5 motorways will be used. There, however, the columns of military equipment, in contrast to the February relocations, will already encounter restrictions on transit.

Not far from the capital, near Chrášťany in Prague-west, work on the repair of a pair of bridges is to continue from the weekend. And last year, Czech drivers know that this place of extensive construction work here in a busy section of the highway is a tangible traffic jam.
Groups of US Army vehicles will move around our territory from Thursday to Tuesday, Magdalena Dvořáková, a spokeswoman for the General Staff of the Czech Army, said on Wednesday. With the fact that, similarly to a month ago, the relocation of a number of smaller groups of military vehicles accompanied by the Czech military police and the Police of the Czech Republic are planned for night and early morning hours. “In such a way that they minimally interfere with road traffic,” Dvořáková explained, which aims to reduce the impact on ordinary motorists as much as possible. Highway raids may be closed for a short period of time so that civilian drivers are not classified as military vehicles in the convoy.
As during the move in February, this time there will be a daily rest with an overnight stay in the tent camp near Rančířov near Jihlava, in the construction and operation of which members of the Rakovnik Deployable Forces Support Battalion play a significant role; they will also ensure its packing. From the point of view of the outside, invisibly, however, it is very likely to be responsible for organizing the transfer and the staff workplace in Stará Boleslav in Prague-East is also involved in resolving any complications.

Dvořáková specified that the four convoys will gradually enter the Czech Republic via the Břeclav border crossing, from where they will continue along the D2 and D1 motorways and the I / 38 road to the Rančířov military complex. From there, the Americans will set out for Central Bohemia for the first time on Friday, March 18 in the evening. The route will take road I / 38 back to the D1 motorway – and then the D0 and D5 to the Rozvadov border crossing. The latest equipment of American soldiers – a total of five hundred vehicles – should leave Central Bohemia and the entire republic on March 22 in the morning.
The Americans are returning from exercises that they completed in cooperation with Czech troops from March 8 to 10. It was about the preparation of the NRF (NATO Response Force) – the aforementioned NATO Rapid Reaction Force.
