Prague councilors approved the plan to build a new gym hall at the Na Zatlance Grammar School. The financing will be paid from the budget of the capital. m of Prague in the estimated amount of approximately 86 million crowns. On the basis of this contract, the City Council will subsequently m of Prague submitted a proposal to approve the acquisition of ownership of real estate in the capital.
“Zatlanka is only one of the most sought-after grammar schools in Prague, yet until this time it is facing problems in teaching physical education due to insufficient space. The planned investment is to remedy this unpleasant situation so that children from school do not have to go to work elsewhere. A new canteen will be created in the building, which in turn will increase the comfort of teachers and pupils, “said the councilor. m of Prague for education and sports Vít Šimral.
The subject of the public contract is the construction of a gym hall in the area of the new inner courtyard. The usual operation of the gym will be designed for one class, ie 32 students. The capacity for current student tournaments within the school is two classes with 64 students. Cloakrooms are also dimensioned for this capacity. Thanks to a separate entrance, it will be possible to rent a gym to the public in addition to school tuition. The hall will be connected to the existing school by a covered bridge and an uncovered footbridge at the south wall of the extension. The building will have three floors. There will also be a school canteen in the area, serving only for the delivery of imported hot lunches. The assumption is that the construction should be completed by the end of 2023 and the work would cost about 86 million crowns.
During the year, the intention to expand the space for the Na Zatlance Grammar School was also agreed, which should solve the problem of the lack of suitable teaching spaces and facilities for both students and the teaching staff. “So far, the school, which with its innovative approach to high school education has made a name not only in the Czech Republic, but also in the world is confirmed to the same number of new contributions. Insulation of the attic and ceiling had to be solved also due to the optimization of the energy building, which will have a positive effect on reducing operating costs. With this building, the grammar school will gain the necessary space for teaching, technical facilities, as well as barrier-free access, “added councilor Vít Šimral.
