Nine Ukrainian refugees have been stolen in Budapest in the last two weeks
Nine Ukrainian refugees have been violated by law in Budapest since the start of the Russo-Ukrainian war, the Budapest Police Headquarters told RTL.hu on Tuesday.
The channel inquired of the authority after the woman who had stolen more than HUF 1 million worth of jewelery from a hotel in Budapest was apprehended. As a cleaner in a hotel in Ferencváros, she grabbed another woman’s suitcase.
The police statement did not initially state this, but RTL said a refugee was the victim.
The Budapest Police Headquarters said four thefts had been registered so far, two on the phone, once on the wallet and once on a suitcase.
There were two “misappropriations”. They once tied an unguarded bag and a dog (the latter was available), but also registered an Ipad theft.
In two cases, a license plate was stolen, and on one occasion, fraud was committed using an information system, which in fact means illegal use of bank card data.
Aid organizations have also repeatedly indicated that they are not entitled to take away donations to refugees from Ukraine. (RTL)
