A father set fire to his vehicle this Monday morning in Vaudricourt. Inside, her two children aged 5 and 7 did not survive.
The drama took place this Monday, March 14 shortly before 9 a.m. in Vaudricourt, a village located south of Béthune, in Pas-de-Calais.
A 52-year-old father set himself on fire with his two children in his car. He was transported in serious condition to the Lille CHR. The two boys, aged 5 and 7, did not survive.
Béthune firefighters were called for a vehicle on fire, located rue du Courant d’eau in Vaudricourt (Pas-de-Calais).
When they arrive at the scene, they discover a very badly burned man lying a few meters from the burned car. The 52-year-old individual told the emergency services that his two children were inside the vehicle.
But impossible to intervene in the car in flames. Once the fire was extinguished, the firefighters discovered the lifeless bodies of two children, two boys, aged 5 and 7.
The father, who allegedly set himself on fire in the vehicle, was transported to the Lille hospital center in serious condition.
Accompanied by the police, the firefighters went to the home of the mother of the two children to announce the terrible news and take care of her. Note that the couple was separated.
The Béthune deputy prosecutor and the police services were on site. An investigation has been opened. More information to come…
