Does Greece finally have the most expensive fuels in Europe?
Much has been made lately about the explosive rise in fuel prices. But what is the position of our country in terms of the average price of unleaded and diesel Pan-European?
The average price of unleaded at the moment in our country is € 2.12, with that of diesel reaching € 1.77 on average. These numbers rank Greece in tenth overall in terms of accuracy among 45 European countries in total.
Yetthere are 9 other countries in which the “filling” of the tank will cost you even more. Indicatively, the most expensive fuels on European soil have the Netherlands with 2.57 € / liter the price of unleaded and 2.28 / liter for diesel, with Norway following with very small differences (slightly cheaper unleaded and more expensive diesel).
On the opposite bank the majority of 45 countries have cheaper fuels than our country with the numbers “shocking”. In Russia – which is also the apple of contention with its invasion of Ukraine – the driver will put a liter of unleaded with less than 0.40 € / liter (€ 0.37 for diesel).
That is, the Greek will pay six times more for his fuel compared to the Russian, who hardly with this amount excited about the CO2 emission norms of his car. Respectively in the former eastern block (where they have rich deposits) we find the cheapest fuel, with Belarus, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia closing the top five with the cheapest fuel in Europe..
Undoubtedly, along with the expensive fuel, the relevant ones also come to your mind low wages of some European Union countries with our survey (this time among 21 countries the countries have officially set a minimum wage.
In Greece the minimum gross salary (calculated with 14 payments per year) is € 774, number that ranks us in the middle of the list. Things are worse for Bulgaria, Latvia and Romania with minimum wages of € 332, € 500 and € 515 per month.. The highest basic salaries, however, can be found in Luxembourg, Ireland and the Netherlands (more expensive fuel) with € 2,257, € 1,775 and € 1,725 respectively.
These low wage figures in some countries are shocking with high fuel prices. Especially considering how In the case of Luxembourg and Ireland, unleaded is much cheaper than in Greece (€ 1.76 / liter) and their base salary is 2.5 times higher..
Things are difficult with the accuracy of the fuel internationally, with the citizens showing a lot of composure by keeping a waiting attitude and we hope for a possible immediate reduction below 2.0 € / liter.
