In Vézénobres, the Rural Family House continues to “cultivate its successes”
The establishment, with 200 students, organized its open house on Saturday March 12.
Forty appointments honored in the morning of Saturday alone. Twenty in the afternoon. Despite the rain, the open days of the Rural Family House of Vézénobres, organized all day, were a great success. The establishment, which offers work-study training in the agricultural and equine fields, has been supporting young people since 1963 who wish to flourish within these two sectors. With an unmistakable slogan: “Let’s cultivate our successes”.
Career opportunities
If we are to believe the figures of the MFR, the motto is respected. Last year, it recorded 93% of “positive exits”, namely young people who found training or employment in stride. A figure that makes the notoriety of the private establishment, of the vocational high school type, managed by an association composed in particular of parents of students.
“This year, we have 200 young people in training, aged 14 to 20, details David Dufix, the director. They are here for “passion jobs”, where the derivatives exist. The horse industry is expanding. Last year, a thousand jobs were not filled in the world of horses. In agriculture, we take advantage of the “local consumption” effect. And these are trades that transform, that add value to the products. Locally, we have examples of goat breeders or Cévennes barons.”
The MFR is open from the 4th and 3rd years of agricultural education. Then, the young people can turn to the equestrian or breeding sector. For the first path, the establishment offers a CAP “trades in equine agriculture” or a professional baccalaureate in driving and management of the equestrian business.
For the second stream, the student can choose between the CAP “livestock farming professions” or a professional baccalaureate “driving and management of the agricultural business”. Eleven teachers make up the teaching team.
On Saturday, three second-grade students, Donovan, Emrys and Rafaël, came to lend a hand to the educational team to show their school. The three boys were present to testify their “happiness to be educated here” and share their feelings about “great team of teachers”.
They have thus, throughout the day, made visit the classrooms and the boarding school to their future comrades. A fine example of seriousness and commitment for students who make every effort to “cultivate their success”.
