The trade union ver.di has announced all-day warning strikes at several airports for Monday. The airports in Hanover and Bremen in the north are affected.
According to the union, passenger screening workers will walk out of work. The strike is scheduled to begin on Monday night (midnight) and end 24 hours later. In Bremen, the end is scheduled for 10 p.m. More than 60 flights are planned at Hanover-Langenhagen Airport on Monday during this period.
The union demands a higher hourly wage
In the collective bargaining dispute at the start of aviation security, the employer had submitted an offer in the three rounds of negotiations so far. However, Ver.di considers this insufficient. The union demands a wage plus of at least one euro per hour for the nationwide $ 25,000 in the industry.
There have been warning strikes at several airports in recent weeks. Both sides will sit down on March 16th and 17th for the next round of negotiations in Berlin.
