The gym has its own bathroom and separate entrance. “I am very glad that we were able to achieve this accommodation within a few hours in order to help Ukrainian citizens who are on the run from the war,” said Mayor Jiří Dohnal.

There is a spring holiday in Prague 11 this week. Pupils return to school on Monday 14 March. The operation of the school will not be disrupted in any way by the accommodation of people fleeing the war.

By midnight on Thursday, the center had checked in a total of over 25,000 refugees. They manage to handle 3,600 people here every day, its original capacity is estimated at two thousand people a day. At first, it struggled with congestion, on Tuesday it even had to stop recipients for a while.
