The Railway Administration has opened an information center in Ústí nad Labem, the second after Prague
A similar information center for the Prague-Dresden high-speed line is going to be opened by the Germans.
Today, the Railway Administration opened its second information center for the public at the main railway station in Ústí nad Labem. The first is from last year at the main railway station in Prague. In Ústí, the center is to focus primarily on providing information on the planned high-speed line Prague-Dresden.
“The aim of opening this information center is to communicate the preparation of the VRT. In addition to information panels, visitors will also find a 3D model of the Ore Mountains and, thanks to intensive cooperation with German colleagues from the DB, examples of drilled rock obtained during the exploration of the subsoil of the future Ore Mountains Tunnel, “ said Jiří Svoboda, General Director of the Railway Administration.
The information center, located in the subway station, will only be open some days of the week, later every working day. “DB will also set up a similar contact center on the German side, which will meet the ever-growing interest in the new Dresden-Prague line,” Marcus Schenkel, Head of Infrastructure Projects at DB Netz Southeast.
VRT from Prague to Ústí nad Labem should start construction in the section Prague – Lovosice in 2027.
