Here’s everything we know about the car now
It has a completely unique position among car enthusiasts all over the world. In recent decades, it has also become a real collector’s car – something that has caused the price to skyrocket.
What are we talking about? Yes, the legendary hippie bus, or the public transport bus as it is also called here at home.
It’s no secret Volkswagen has long wanted to give it a comeback. In fact, it is over 20 years since they showed us the concept car Microbus / Bulli for the first time. Here the legend was to have a modern sequel and the interest was enormous.
Nevertheless, the project was eventually shelved. Men Volkswagen’s extensive investment in electric cars has given models a second chance. In 2017, we got to see the concept car ID.Buzz for the first time.
Great interest
The last few weeks have been several photo drops of camouflaged editions. Some car journalists have also had the car driven. And tomorrow, Wednesday, it’s ready for the digital world premiere. It goes off the stack at 19.00
– Right after the world premiere, our websites will be updated with pictures and more information. We look forward to showing you all the details and highlights for the new ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo, and rejoice that you at least like us, the Norwegian importer now writes, in a message that they have shown their interest in the car here at home.
According to Broom’s experience, there has been a lot of interest in the car. Therefore, it is probably also due to expect significant activity when it opens for ordering.

Only five seats at the start
Although Volkswagen has retained many details, we already know quite a bit about the car. Among other things, it will come in two lengths. First out is the «short» version, with a length of 4.71 meters. The wheelbase is a full 2.98 meters, it loves the interior space well.
The passenger car version initially only comes as a five-seater. Many had expected three separate backseat seats here, here it looks like the factory has instead gone for a traditional backseat solution. The seats also do not run on rails, as in the group brother Multivan.
It must have been dropped for financial reasons. We expect that a version with seven seats will not be far in the future.

Roof load, trailer weight and range
The rear seat can be pushed lengthwise, so you can prioritize as much space as possible for luggage – or passengers. Even with the rear seat in the rear position, the luggage compartment is huge. Here you can also get a lot of extra if you pack for the roof. Rear, it is sliding doors, manual or electric depending on how you fat the car.
We anticipate that Buzz may have roof loads, but this has not been confirmed yet. However, it is the trailer weight. Here you can tow a trailer of up to 1,000 kilos.
The battery pack has the same capacity as we know from other VW ID.4. Net capacity is 77 kWt and the engine provides 204 horsepower. Official range is not clear, but from several teams it is estimated on this edition of ID.Buzz will end up somewhere between 350 and 400 kilometers.
No – this is not just an old people carrier
Follow the premiere
Volkswagen follows the same pattern as they have done on their other ID models. This means that they start with rear-wheel drive. 4×4 will come later. Exactly when is not official, but there are many indications that it may take its time. Volkswagen is one of many car manufacturers that are struggling with access to parts now. It goes beyond production.
Prices are also not official before the premiere. Here the speculation goes high. It is probably not without reason that VW proposes a starting price of just under 500,000 kroner – but that it will be possible to charge the car with a lot of equipment which will increase the price significantly.
You can of course follow the premiere here at Broom on Wednesday night. Then we have to share all of the facts, photos and video on the newcomer.
