Even animals in Ukraine suffer from the war. Prague Zoo sent the transport with help
“The situation is serious not only for humans but also for animals. There are zoos, with colleagues from Poland we get news about which gardens need the most, “explained the news to the zoo deputy Jaroslav Šimek.
“The largest volume consists of various types of granulated feed. There are a total of six different types of granules – for giraffes, equidae, flamingos, large parrots, antelopes. That’s the basis, granules make up the largest part of the load. Then there are about nine boxes of veterinary material, from basic necessities such as dressing material, sewing material, needles, syringe. but of course also veterinary drugs, broad-spectrum antibiotics, analgesics, stress suppressants. “
The cost is worth 165 thousand crowns. These are funds obtained from the collection of Ukrainian zoos, organized by the Prague Zoo, which founded this collection. However, almost all gardens in the Czech Republic and Slovakia help to spread and contribute to it.
The transport from the Prague Zoo arrived on Monday evening at the Polish Zoo in Warsaw. The organization of assistance to Ukrainian breeding facilities is now taking place through the local foundation for the development of the Warsaw Panda Zoo. The foundation informs about the needs of individual Ukrainian facilities, then collects feed and various materials, and from there everything is distributed to Ukraine via Lviv. They even managed to bring first aid from there to the Kharkov zoo.
So far, 2.5 tons of aid have gone from Prague to Ukraine.
