Over two thousand Ukrainian women and children visited the Prague Zoo in a week. I’m also planning special days
“Tens to hundreds of people take advantage of this offer every day, most of them arriving at the weekend,” The zoo said in a press release.
The new zoo in Prague has prepared Days for Ukrainian families with children, covering the entire program will be translated into Ukrainian. People can look forward to, for example, guided feeding, sea lion training or an entertaining program at the Bororo Reservation. The event will take place for the first time on Thursday and then in other dates in March.
The Troja Zoo, together with the Union of Czech and Slovak Zoos, has published a collection in support of Ukrainian zoos. People can go to the collection called “We help them survive” we contribute in any amount.
Proceeds from benefit inspections of selected exhibitions with breeders will also be used to support breeding facilities in Ukraine. Those interested will be able to see, for example, the exhibition Darwin’s Crater, Reed’s Pavilion or the Valley of the Elephants. The tours, the first of which will take place on Friday, will last about an hour and one tour will be attended by a maximum of ten people. Tickets cost 1000 crowns and are available on the zoo’s website.
The Troja Zoo opened on September 28, 1931. It is one of the most visited places in Prague. Last year, almost 963,000 visitors came to it, about 110,000 more than in 2020, when the Czechia faced a coronavirus epidemic for the first year. Due to anti-epidemic measures, the zoos were closed for a long time or had limited capacity.
