Three regional centers for helping Ukrainians will expand to four, Prague needs relief
Preparations for the opening of the Regional Assistance Assistance Center of Ukraine (KACPU) in Příbram, which were announced on Saturday by Mayor Jan Konvalinka (YES) and City Hall spokeswoman Eva Švehlová, were also confirmed by the regional authority on Sunday afternoon. With the proviso that it will operate in the Příbram Cultural House from 7 am on Tuesday.

It is to be in operation 24 hours a day, as well as three other centers, which it already operates in Kutná Hora, Mladá Boleslav and, together with the capital, also in Prague.
KACPU serves war refugees from Ukraine as a place of first contact with the Czech authorities, where you can arrange residence registration, health insurance, if necessary find accommodation, but other things can also be addressed: such as work permits or social benefits. Emergency medical care or psychological intervention are also available.
Three regional centers to help Ukrainians are not enough, another is planned in Příbram
According to President Petra Pecková (STAN), the new center in Příbram, which the region is opening in cooperation with the city, is intended to alleviate the onslaught at KACPU in Prague. “Most refugees from Ukraine go to Prague and the Central Bohemian Region,” she recalled. Prague remains an influx of people, which is also expected by queues and long waits; including standing outside in inclement weather. Prague is trying to relieve other assistance centers, where refugees have started transporting fire buses. On Monday, the situation is to be further addressed at the central level (and the government will probably decide to send to specific locations within the country to ease in Prague and Brno). On Sunday, Pecková reiterated Saturday’s warning that the Ukrainians would drive to the Mladá Boleslav center, where it is calmer and shorter waiting: public transport is free in the Central Bohemian Region, just show your Ukrainian passport.

On Sunday, the Regional Authority informed that 1,035 people had passed through the Kutná Hora Center (also in the Congress Center of the Central Bohemian Region Gallery) from Thursday’s opening to Sunday morning, and 534 refugees in Mladá Boleslav (at the school on 17 November Street). 80 of them needed to provide accommodation so far. KACPU in the center of Prague: only during the larger onslaught: according to the Prague fire brigade, 3017 refugees (of whom 195 needed accommodation) – on Saturday alone – 119 people were transferred to other centers for registration.
Yesterday, the Central Bohemian Region hastily ordered another supply from the Regional Assistance Center for Assistance to Ukraine, which we have together with Prague in the Congress Center.

On Sunday, the regional authority recalled that they had provided food supplies, voluntarily provided its staff to provide administrative capacity – and is still looking for applications to act as clerical staff, interpreters or crisis intervention under concluded agreements (ie paid activities). It is possible to apply via the online questionnaire at survio.com/survey/d/T3F3G8L1S2W9Q1I3M. In the case of Příbram, the mayor of Konvalinka also drew attention to the city’s green line with the number 800 555 600.
