There are 100,000 refugees in the Czech Republic, mostly in Prague and Central Bohemia
An estimated 100,000 refugees from Ukraine, invaded by Russia, have arrived in the Czech Republic since the beginning of the conflict. This was stated on Sunday by the Ministry of the Interior Vít Rakušan (STAN), stating that it is not an exact number, but an estimate.
On Saturday, according to official data from the interior of the foreign police in the Czech Republic, about 3,800 Ukrainian refugees reported and a total of over 42,000. Refugees have three days to register with the Aliens Police.
Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine on February 24. Since then, about 1.5 million people have fled Ukraine, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) on Saturday, and 1.3 million, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

In the Czech Republic, the number of reported refugees from Ukraine was the highest so far on Wednesday, March 2, at almost 11,000 people. There were 8,400 people on Thursday and about 5,400 on Friday. A total of 45,587 special visas for people affected by the invasion have been issued, and almost 12,000 have been issued on Saturdays as on Friday.
How many refugees have registered in the Czech Republic?
Due to the conflict in Ukraine and the arrival of refugees, assistance centers have been set up throughout the Czech Republic, which, in addition to registration and medical examinations of newcomers, also provide accommodation, logistics, humanitarian aid and transport.
At the Prague center in the Congress Center, the influx of refugees has been growing in recent days. Although the capacity of the center, which also serves the Central Bohemian Region, is designed for two thousand people a day, on Saturday it handled three thousand refugees. According to earlier information from the interior, most refugees from Ukraine are heading to Prague and the Central Bohemian Region.
