In the run-up to its opening Museum of Fine Arts: work on Leopold de Waelplaats and drawings | Antwerp
AntwerpThe Royal Museum of Fine Arts (KMSKA) in the South of Antwerp will open its doors again on 25 September after a thorough renovation. The city and the district of Antwerp want to beautify the streets in the run-up to the reopening of Leopold de Waelplaats and the streets.
In mid-March, walnut works will start around the Leopold de Waelplaats. Which will take several months to complete and will occur in upcoming tasks.
Subsequently, the pedestrian crossings on the square will be reconstructed. They are in poor condition and are certainly an obstacle for less mobile people. The zebra crossings are also being renovated.
In May, a softening project will start on the raised square in front of the KMSKA. Large open tree areas are created in semi-paved surfaces around the existing trees. And the forecourt of the museum is in turn cleaned up.
Finally, Fluvius will renew the public lighting on the square in front of the museum.
