After the fire at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, the radiation level in the Republic of Moldova did not increase. The announcement comes from the Ministry of Environment and IGSU representatives, who call for calm and urge people not to consume too much iodine, as this could harm their health.

We know that the essential installations that are connected to the power generation blocks, I mean the reactors, are also not affected. The radioactive fund in the Republic of Moldova is normal. The measurements made in several locations are within the limits of 8-10, the limit being 25. “
Presenting this information, the head of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations called for calm, assuring that there is currently no danger to the population.

The Ministry of Environment also announces that the radiation level in the Republic of Moldova is not increasing. According to the institution’s representatives, after Ukraine lost control of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant on February 25, the Ministry of Environment and the Government are informed daily by subordinate institutions about the level of radioactive background recorded at the automatic monitoring stations. In a message on the official website, the Chisinau Foreign Ministry condemned the military attack on the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant.
